Lumberjacks Head to Albuquerque for New Mexico Collegiate Classic

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January. 30, 2026) -  Northern Arizona Track & Field continues its indoor season this weekend at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, hosted by New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6–7.

Northern Arizona enters the New Mexico Collegiate Classic following productive performances last weekend at the Ron Mann Classic in Flagstaff, Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational in Virginia and the Millrose games in New York.

The two-day meet brings the Lumberjacks back to one of the NCAA's premier indoor venues, where altitude, depth of competition, and championship-style scheduling combine to create an important early-February checkpoint.

Sitting at 4,958 feet above sea level, the Albuquerque Convention Center has long been a staple on the national indoor calendar. The altitude creates unique conditions, particularly for qualifying purposes, as NCAA conversions are applied to results once marks are submitted to TFRRS

Coming off the Ron Mann Classic, sprints, jumps, and throws will be the groups competing this weekend. Friday's competition opens with field events and select track sections before building into invitational races in the evening. Saturday shifts into a championship-style format, featuring preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds in the 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles, along with the 400 meters and the closing 4×400 relays.

All events from the New Mexico Collegiate Classic will be streamed live on FloTrack, with live results and heat sheets available through RT Timing Solutions.
