Lumberjacks Set For Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 1, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team is set to compete in the Lady Luck Invitational, hosted by UNLV from March 2-3. The tournament will be played at the Las Vegas Country Club (Par 72/6,529 yards).

Located in the heart of Las Vegas, Nevada, just moments from the Strip, the LVCC was established in 1967. It was originally designed by Edmund B. Ault and later enhanced by Ron Garl (1981) and Mark Rathert (2009).

From the beginning, the course impressed the game's greats, with World Golf Hall of Famer Gene Sarazen calling it "one of the best courses I have seen in my lifetime" at its grand opening. Long a host of the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational and now home to LIV Golf events, the Las Vegas Country Club is known for its pristine fairways and championship pedigree. Lined with towering trees, shimmering lakes and strategic bunkers, the layout features back-to-back par 5s at Nos. 9 and 10 and dramatic finishing holes set against the iconic Strip skyline.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MST on Monday, with 36 holes played on the first day. The final 18 holes will begin Tuesday at the same time.

NAU's lineup includes senior Lizzie Neale, junior Amy Hodgkins, junior Frankie Dezis, sophomore Sumin Kang and senior Nina Lukyanenko.

The tournament features a 14-team field that includes seven squads ranked in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd Top 50. Joining the No. 62 Lumberjacks are host No. 83 UNLV, No. 18 UCF, No. 19 Baylor, No. 28 Oklahoma State, No. 30 Kent State, No. 33 Houston, No. 44 Texas Tech, No. 49 Oregon State, No. 54 Texas State, No. 63 BYU, No. 93 UTSA, No. 121 Nevada and No. 137 New Mexico.

Live scoring of the tournament will be available via Scoreboard Powered by Clippd.

NAU is coming off a strong performance at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. Competing against a highly competitive field, the 'Jacks finished seventh out of 16 teams with a total team score of +40 (892). The competition was highlighted by Neale's 16th career top-10 finish, as she carded a 69 (-2) in the third round for a 54-hole total of +3 to finish tied for 10th. Dezis matched her career low in the second round, firing a bogey-free 68 (-3).

Looking ahead, the 'Jacks will host the annual Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona from March 13-15.
