Tcherniack Earns Final Big Sky Player of the Week Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah (April 21, 2026) – Northern Arizona men's tennis redshirt freshman Noa Tcherniack has been tabbed the Big Sky Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning. It is Tcherniack's second weekly laurel from the conference, and fourth for the Lumberjacks overall this season.

The laurel comes of the heels of a week in which the Lumberjacks clinched the regular season title outright following a 7-0 sweep of Idaho on April 19. NAU also secured the No. 1 overall seed in the conference tournament starting later this week.
Tcherniack closed the regular season with a 14-4 record in singles, with most of his play coming at the No. 1 position. Eight of his 14 victories on the season have come in straight sets, the most recent being over Idaho's Chettana Amadike this past Sunday by a score of 6-2, 7-5. Alongside fellow Lumberjack Jakub Volesky, he also recorded a 6-0 win in doubles on court three over the Vandals.

Tcherniack and the Lumberjacks will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between Montana State and Idaho on Friday, April 24 in the semifinals of the Big Sky Championships. First serve is set for 8 a.m. MST and can be followed on live stats.
