FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 27, 2026) – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team will head to Tucson for the First Round of the 2026 NCAA Championships to face in-state foe Arizona on Friday, May 1.
NAU earned the Big Sky Conference's automatic bid to the Big Dance by winning the conference tournament this past weekend in Phoenix. The top-seeded Lumberjacks took down Montana State in the semifinals 4-0, and Idaho State in the final match, 4-2. Redshirt freshman
Noa Tcherniack was named Tournament MVP after clinching the match against the Bengals with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win at his usual No. 1 position.
The tournament title marked NAU's first since the 2021 season and fifth overall in program history. It is also the second time the Jacks have captured the conference regular season and tournament title in the same season. NAU completed back-to-back seasons undefeated in conference play this Spring and is carrying an 11-match win streak into the NCAA Championships.
