TEMPE, Ariz. (November 16, 2018) – Following her impressive fall season, junior
Chiara Tomasetti will enter the spring with a national ranking of No. 75 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Rankings released earlier this week. Tomasetti was the only Big Sky athlete in the fall-ending national rankings.
Tomasetti's ranking is her first since she was ranked No. 63 in April 2017. She finished the fall season with a 16-4 singles record, including three wins over nationally-ranked opponents. She represented the Northern Arizona women's tennis team at the ITA National Fall Championships last week, compiling a 1-2 record.
Tomasetti automatically qualified for the Fall Championships after winning the ITA Mountain Regional singles title – the first in program history – in October. She claimed the regional championship by winning seven matches and rising above the rest of the Mountain Region.
The third-year Lumberjack's fall campaign also included a tournament win at the UNLV Invitational and an ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains runner-up finish.
