2018 NORTHERN ARIZONA FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Feb. 6, 2018) – The Northern Arizona football team will open the upcoming season vs. FBS opponent UTEP on Sat., Sept. 1 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, according to the 2018 Lumberjack Football schedule which was released on Tuesday.

Jerome Souers. "We have a great non-conference schedule that features a FBS opponent in UTEP as well as quality FCS opponents in Eastern Washington and Missouri State that will prime us for the always difficult run through the Big Sky Conference portion of the season."
The 2018 schedule is highlighted by five home games at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome, including a non-conference matchup vs. Eastern Washington on Sat., Sept. 8 and the Big Sky opener vs. Southern Utah on Sat., Sept. 22.
The Lumberjacks will host Big Sky member Eastern Washington in a non-conference contest on Sept. 8 as part of a deal between the programs that will see play a pair of non-league games over the next three seasons with NAU making the trip to Cheney, Wash., for a non-league contest during the 2020 campaign.
The 11-game slate also includes a non-conference tilt at Missouri State on Sat., Sept. 15. The Bears are a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, which sent a total of five teams to the 2017 FCS Playoffs.
Following the Big Sky opener at the Skydome vs. Southern Utah on Sept. 22, the 'Jacks will visit Idaho State for their first conference road game on Sat., Sept. 29. The showdown with the Bengals will mark NAU's first trip to Pocatello since it posted a 50-10 victory at Idaho State on Nov. 3, 2012.
Defending Big Sky co-champion Weber State will pay a visit to the Skydome for Family Weekend on Sat., Oct. 6 for the first time since 2015 before the Lumberjacks' bye week on Oct. 13.
NAU will play three of its final five games of the 2018 slate on the road beginning with a trip to Greeley, Colo., to take on Northern Colorado on Sat., Oct. 20. The 'Jacks will then host Cal Poly for Homecoming on Sat., Oct. 27 before making back-to-back trips to Northern California for tilts with UC Davis (Nov. 3) and Sacramento State (Nov. 10).
The Lumberjacks will close out the 2018 regular season on Sat., Nov. 17 against North Dakota in the annual Senior Day game at the Skydome.
