TEMPE, Ariz. (April 2, 2019) – Junior
Chiara Tomasetti moved back into the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Rankings, coming in at No. 118 in the national rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday.
Tomasetti has been nationally-ranked for all but two weeks this spring with a high of No. 75 to start the dual season. The Roesrath, Germany native is 14-0 in dual matches, competing exclusively at the No. 1 singles position.
Twelve of her 14 dual victories have come in straight sets and in 10 of her 14 wins, she has dropped a combined three games or fewer. Including tournament play, Tomasetti is 32-5 in singles matches this season and has won a total of 16 consecutive matches dating back to the spring-opening Metroplex Mania tourney.
Tomasetti leads the Big Sky Conference in No. 1 singles wins and her 14 dual match victories ranks second overall in the league. She remains the only conference player nationally-ranked in either singles or doubles.
The Northern Arizona women's tennis team returns to the court on Saturday at 3 p.m. versus Weber State at the Aquatic and Tennis Complex to start a two-match weekend.
