FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 12, 2020) – Having lost 21 straight matches over a 13-year span to Sacramento State, the Northern Arizona women's tennis team was due for a win over their Big Sky Conference rival and it could not have come in more resounding fashion on April 13, 2014.
The Lumberjacks notched a resounding 6-1 win over the Hornets, snapping the program's lengthy losing streak to the perennial conference champions. The victory held extra meaning for Tatum Rochin, who was celebrating her Senior Day that day, as well as her sister Hailey Rochin, who was a freshman on the team that season. Both sisters won both their singles and doubles matches that afternoon at Continental Country Club in the Lumberjack victory.
In this week's Lumberjack Flashback, the Rochin sisters chat about the victory, their experience as Division I college teammates and more. Lumberjack Flashback is a video series highlighting NAU Athletics' top moments and individual performances from the last decade.
