FLAGSTAFF, Ariz (February 6, 2022) - After three full days of diving, the 'Jacks ended their Lumberjack Diving Invite after concluding platforms Sunday.
Emily Luberto placed eighth in prelims with a score of 212.95, before deciding to rest for finals, as she has already qualified for NCAA zones.
Makenna Sammons finished the day with a fifth place finish and a total of 458.93 points on the platform dives. Victoria Knapp placed sixth in total, with a score of 449.60. Following close behind was Reaney Preston who placed seventh with a final score of 449.00. The three all put up NCAA Zone Qualifying scores on the platform boards to finish out the invite.
"I think our group did great on platform, I don't think we're a true platform team but what we are doing up there we're doing very well. When they're consistent they can make those qualifying scores and I'm very pleased with a little fine tuning here and there, I think we'll be ready for conference," Head Diving Coach Nikki Kelsey said.
The Lumberjacks will gear up for the Western Athletic Conference Championships, set to start on Feb. 23 in Houston, Texas. To Stay up to date with NAU Swimming and Diving, follow the team on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
