SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 25, 2023) – The Northern Arizona University track & field teams continued their time at the NCAA West Regional today, with the women beginning their competition.
Alyssa Colbert headlined the day for the Lumberjacks, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 200-meter after running a personal best time of 23.42 to set a new school record.
Colbert also earned a spot in the quarterfinals of the 100-meter following an impressive performance in the first round. Colbert matched her personal best time of 11.33, also matching the school record in the event as she finished third in her heat to advance to the next round on Saturday.
Madeline Wilson also competed in the 200-meter for NAU. She ran a time of 23.74 to finish 34
th overall in the first round of competition.
Nikita Moore qualified for the 1,500-meter quarterfinals, finishing fifth in her heat with a time of 4:20.87 to earn an automatic spot in the next round.
Kyairra Reigh and
LiNay Perry both competed in the first round of the 400-meter, finishing 26
th and 42
nd respectively. Reigh ran a time of 53.08 while Perry ran a time of 54.36.
Jesselyn Bries closed out the day in the 10,000-meter, running a time of 33:31.72 to finish 24
th.
Jade Kwinn opened the day for the 'Jacks as their lone field competitor. She competed in the javelin, finishing 34
th with a throw of 45.34 meters.
The NCAA West Regional will continue tomorrow with competition concluding on Saturday. Live results for the meet can be found
