SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 27, 2023) – The Northern Arizona University track & field teams completed their competition at the NCAA West Regional today, adding another national qualifier.
Alyssa Colbert qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the 100-meter after running a time of 11.19 to destroy the previous school record. She also competed in the quarterfinals of the 200-meter, where she finished 22
nd overall with a time of 23.54.
Colbert was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team, which also set a new school record today. She was joined by
Kyairra Reigh, LaTrouchka Duke, and
LiNay Perry as they combined to run a time of 44.40 to finish 20
th overall.
Nikita Moore ran in the quarterfinals of the 1,500-meter, finishing 22
nd overall with a time of 4:20.47. She also competed in the 5,000-meter, finishing 34
th overall with a time of 16:23.16.
Annika Reiss was NAU's top finisher in the 5K, running a time of 15:57.86 to finish 16
th.
Jesselyn Bries was not far behind, finishing 20
th in a time of 16:01.26.
Meagan Van Pelt and
Bryn Morley finished 36
th and 37
th respectively, with times of 16:26.72 and 16:29.79.
Jenna Figueroa was the lone field competitor for the Lumberjacks. She finished 46
th overall in the triple jump with a mark of 11.96 meters.
Alyssa Colbert will join
David Dunlap,
Colin Sahlman, and
Nico Young in Austin as they compete for a National Championship title. Colbert will compete in the 100-meter, Dunlap will compete in the 200-meter, Sahlman will compete in the 1,500-meter, and Young will compete in the 5,000-meter.
