Freshman Keegan Knott Named to the U.S. Paralympics 2023 Parapan American Games

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 29, 2023) – Keegan Knott has yet to officially suit up for the Northern Arizona swimming and diving team. However, the Lake Forest, Illinois freshman is already racking up accolades on the international stage.

This week, Knott was one of 33 athletes whom U.S. Paralympics Swimming chose to represent Team USA in November at the 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

Scheduled from Nov. 17-26 in the Chilean capital, the Parapan American Games are a multi-sport event that features para-athletes from 33 nations from across the globe.

Knott has been competitively swimming for U.S. Paralympics Swimming since she was nine years old.

It will be a return to international competition for Knott, as previously, the freshman competed in the 400-meter freestyle at the 2021 Paralympics held in Tokyo.

"We are so proud of Keegan," head coach Andy Johns said. "We look forward to watching her represent Team USA in Chile."

Knott and the rest of the team will be back in the pool on Oct. 13 as they host its annual blue vs. gold meet. The meet will also feature swimmers from Arizona Christian University. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
