FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 6, 2024) – Daryna Shoshyna has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week following strong performances on a weekend in which the Lumberjacks went 2-0 with wins against Utah Tech and No. 69 UNLV.
Shoshyna played on court one with partner
Ana Karen Guadiana Campos, with the duo dominating against Utah Tech. They easily defeated their opponents 6-0 to help the team secure their first point of the match.
Shoshyna also saw a strong win in singles play against Utah Tech, winning consecutive sets on court three 6-2, 6-1.
The sophomore was a large part of the 'Jacks upset over No. 69 UNLV, clinching the match with her win on court three. Shoshyna won her first set in a 7-6 tiebreaker, also pushing her second set to a tiebreak before dropping it 6-7. She came back fighting in the third set, eventually claiming victory 6-4 to earn the match point and the match win.
