Men’s Tennis Receives Highest-Ever Recruiting Class Rankings

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (June 10, 2024) – NAU Men's Tennis has recruiting triumphs to celebrate as the Tennis Recruiting Network announced the Top Men's Mid-Major Class this morning, with the Lumberjacks coming in at No. 8, marking the program's highest-ever honor in the poll.
 
In addition, the Jacks received votes in the overall men's class poll, also announced by the Tennis Recruiting Network. Head coach Maciej Bogusz announced the three newcomers last month in Ivan Perisic, Noa Tcherniack, and Jakub Voleský who will join NAU Tennis this fall.
 
Arizona local, Perisic will be joining the Lumberjacks from Scottsdale, Ariz. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Perisic chose NAU for the strength of tennis team and being supported by a motivating coach. Perisic has attended Desert Mountain high school and played under head coach Dan Lefevre. Perisic is a four-star recruit and the No. 1 recruit out of the state of Arizona. Perisic is the son of Ljubomir and Ivona, and the younger brother to Igor.
 
Lefty Tcherniack will be joining the Lumberjacks from Perols, France. Tcherniack notes he chose NAU for the good relationship he has developed with head coach Maciej Bogusz, and that he feels motivated by the department and Flagstaff. Tcherniack holds a -2/6 French rating alongside a 12.31 UTR rating. Tcherniack is the son of Yann and Katia and the older brother to Charly.
 
Voleský will be joining the Lumberjacks from Prague, Czechia with a 12.03 UTR rating. Voleský's best results came in the ITF Tour where he made it to the semifinals in the J100 group in Prague, alongside the semfinals in the J60 Veska, which he accomplished twice. Voleský also made the final at the Czech Men's Tournament and was crowned the ITF J100 Prague doubles winner. Voleský is the son of Karel and Tana and the older brother to Daniel.
