EUGENE, Ore. (June 5, 2024) – The NAU track & field team saw a strong start to their NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship competition, with two All-American performances.
Aaron Las Heras and
Cael Grotenhuis both earned second-team All-American honors in the 10,000-meter. Las Heras placed 11
th after running a time of 28:19.14, while Grotenhuis ran a personal best time of 28:31.64 to finish 14
th.
Colin Sahlman is headed to the finals of the 1,500-meter after finishing with the third fastest time of the semifinal round. Sahlman finished third in his heat with a time of 3:37.43 to earn automatic qualification for the finals of the event. He will compete again on Friday, June 7 at 6:12 p.m. MST.
