FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Jan. 8, 2024) – Two Lumberjacks have earned Western Athletic Conference honors this week.
Elsa Musselman was named WAC Swimmer of the Week after winning the 200-yard butterfly during the dual meet against Arizona, finishing in 2:04.47. The junior from San Antonio, Texas, also contributed to a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, teaming up with Kokona Watanabe, Kaci Kelaher, and Bena Koehn to clock a time of 1:36.46.
Additionally, Musselman swam in the 400-yard medley relay, where the NAU A team - consisting of Gracie Munk, Cydnie Perkins, Musselman, and Koehn - posted the fastest time for the Lumberjacks, placing third with a combined time of 3:48.80.
Mackenna Stocker, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., earned WAC Diver of the Week honors for the second time this season and the third time in her career. In the 3-meter dive against Arizona, Stocker scored 262.43 to claim first place and secured a tie for second in the 1-meter with a score of 265.20.
The Northern Arizona divers will compete at the California Baptist Diving Invite in Riverside, California, from Jan. 9-11. The swimmers will return to action in a dual meet against Utah Tech from Jan. 24-25.
