SAN DIEGO (November 9, 2025) – Northern Arizona men's tennis was represented by the doubles pair of
Takumi Katsuda and
Vincent Vohl at the ITA Conference Masters Championships, hosted this weekend in San Diego, while the rest of the Lumberjacks competed nearby in the Triton Invite on the campus of UC San Diego.
Katsuda and Vohl fell in a back-and-forth match in the round of 32 and then dropped a tough match in straight sets in the consolation quarters.
The pair fell to Illinois State's Tomas Valencia and Adrian Diblidox, 6-2, 1-6, 10-7 in the round of 32. In consolation quarterfinals, Katsuda and Vohl fell in straight sets that both went to tiebreak to Matthieu Coignet and Mikel Garmendia of Texas A&M, 7-6(7-5), 7-6(7-4).
At the Triton invite,
Daniels Tens and
Ivan Perisic started strong with wins in singles, while
Noa Tcherniack and
Jakub Volesky took a win in doubles. Tens defeated Sebastiano Cressi of Nevada in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. Perisic took a three-set win against Abhinav Chunduru, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Day two saw no losses in singles play for the Lumberjacks, as Tcherniack, Volesky, Perisic, and Tens all took wins. Tens and Perisic also took a win in doubles over Montana's Dragos Bucurescu and Baltazar Wiger-Nordas, 7-6(3).
The final day of competition consisted of three singles matches against UC Davis. Tcherniack defeated Kaveh Taheri, 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 and Perisic took down Perry Di Giulio 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, while Tens fell to Ivan Savkin, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6.
