Women’s Tennis Set to Host Richmond and GCU in Pair of Spring Break Matchups

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 10, 2025) – Northern Arizona Women's Tennis will eye their fourth and fifth-straight victories this week as they host Richmond on Tuesday at 11 a.m. MST, followed by a Wednesday morning contest with Grand Canyon at 11 a.m. MST.
 
NAU's three consecutive victories come over Idaho State, New Mexico, and Montana State. In the Jacks Friday meeting with the Bobcats, Northern Arizona swept singles play after dropping doubles on all three courts. Daryna Shoshyna and Andrea Noguera lead NAU in singles play, each holding an 8-1 record on the season, while no player on the Jacks squad has dropped more than two singles matches to start the season.
 
In doubles play, NAU is led by the top pairing of Elen Jantacova and Shoshyna who boast a 5-3 record overall. The team holds a 14-10 record in doubles play this season while adding a 41-11 singles record.
 
Richmond will head into Tuesdays match with a 4-2 record, picking up wins in their last two against Campbell and East Carolina. Grand Canyon has taken an 8-5 start to the season, winning their last three matchups to Montana State, UC Riverside, and New Mexico.
