FARMINGTON, Utah (March 19, 2025) – Dani Torres capped off a successful weekend in Flagstaff with Big Sky Conference honors, being named the Player of the Week.
Torres led the Lumberjacks to three straight victories over the weekend, knocking Big Sky opponents Weber State and Montana to improve to a 4-0 conference record, before picking up a victory over Pratt CC. Torres partnered with Piotr Galus to bring the Jacks to a 6-2 No. 2 doubles victory over WSU's pairing of Tristan Sarap and William Zulch. Torres then stepped up for a No. 1 singles win over Sarap in a 6-2, 6-2 final. Against the Griz, Torres and Galus moved up to the No. 1 doubles court, securing the point for NAU with a 6-3 victory over Montana's pairing of Fernando Perez and Baltaz Wiger-Nordas. Torres then completed the match sweep over the Griz, picking up the No. 1 win in tiebreak fashion over Tom Bittner, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5).
In Monday's doubleheader, Torres only saw doubles action, bringing in a 6-4 No. 1 doubles victory alongside Galus in the morning matchup, followed by a 6-1 doubles victory at the No. 1 in the afternoon matchup.
