NAU Men's Tennis Earns Sixth, Four Lumberjacks Earn Spots in Final ITA Regional Rankings

GILBERT, Ariz. (June 4, 2026) – The Northern Arizona tennis teams have made four appearances in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional rankings, released Wednesday evening. The Regional Rankings consist of the Top 10 team rankings, Top 20 singles rankings, and Top 10 doubles rankings from each region. The Lumberjacks compete in the Mountain region.

On the women's side, Patrycja Niewiadomska landed 12th in singles. On the men's side, Jakub Jedrzejczak was ranked 14th in singles, and the pair of Vincent Vohl and Takumi Katsuda received eighth in doubles, while the team earned sixth.

Niewiadomska wrapped up a four-year career with the Lumberjacks this past spring, as she compiled a team-best 11-4 record at the No. 1 position. She earned First Team All-Big Sky Conference in singles after being named Big Sky Player of the Week twice during the season. The native of Bielsko-Biala, Poland leaves Flagstaff also ranked in four slots in the program records books for her career, ninth in overall singles wins (51), seventh in singles wins at the No. 1 position (26), fifth in singles win percentage (.718), and fourth in No. 1 singles win percentage (.634).

Jedrzejczak completed one of the most successful rookie campaigns at NAU this past spring, earning the Big Sky's Freshman of the Year honor as well as First Team in singles and doubles. Spending most of his time at the No. 2 position in singles, he accumulated an overall record of 15-5 for second-best on the team and garnered Big Sky Player of the Week honors twice during the season. He also owned the longest win streak of anyone in the conference during a stretch of 11 matches from Feb. 21st to April 5th, the longest streak by a Lumberjack since Dominik Buzonics won 13 straight in the 2023 season. Jedrzejczak is just one of two freshman list on the Regional Singles Rankings, joined only by UNLV's Marko Maksimovic who was ranked fourth.

Katsuda and Vohl as a pair went 9-3 on the season, including 8-3 as the No. 1 team. The duo notched wins against Colgate, Grand Canyon and Air Force, and recorded a breadstick against Sacramento State. In the fall, the pair also saw success, as they qualified for the ITA Conference Masters Championships. They finished the spring with First Team All-Big Sky honors in doubles.

The 2026 men's team ended a five-year drought of appearances in the NCAA tournament, as the squad captured its fifth Big Sky Tournament title at the end of April. The team also grabbed its fourth straight regular season title, becoming the first team since Idaho in 2022 to own both the regular season and tournament title.
