FARMINGTON, Utah (March 19, 2025) – Daryna Shoshyna was named the Big Sky Conference's player of the week following a 4-0 weekend on the road.
Shoshyna led the Lumberjacks to another 2-0 weekend on the road, picking up back-to-back wins over Big Sky opponent's Idaho and Eastern Washington, extending the team's win streak to six-straight matches. Shoshyna kicked off her 4-0 weekend with a No. 1 doubles victory alongside partner Elen Jantacova, knocking Idaho's pairing of Lena Beckx and Ida Johannson in a 6-3 final, securing the doubles point for Northern Arizona. Shoshyna went on to clinch her singles matchup at the No. 1, facing Idaho's Diana Khaydarshina in sweeping fashion, 6-0, 6-0.
At Eastern Washington, Shoshyna and Jantacova claimed the first doubles victory of the day for the Jacks, picking up a 6-4 final at the No. 1 against the Eagles pairing of Isabella Foshee and Kenzington Mann. Shoshyna then battled her way to clinch the victory for NAU at the No. 1 slot, earning a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over EWU's Foshee. The Jacks improved to 4-0 in conference play with the weekend wins.
