Lumberjacks Hold Steady in First Round at Golfweek Red Sky Classic

VAIL, COLO. (Sept. 22, 2025) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team completed the first round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic today with a score of nine-over-par (279).

Played on the Red Sky Fazio Course at 6,376 yards (par 72), the Lumberjacks are currently tied for 12th place. LSU leads the tournament at 14-under-par (274), with Francesca Fiorellini of LSU setting a school record with a round of 63 (-9), which is also a Red Sky course record. USC trails by two strokes.

Senior Lizzie Neale led the Lumberjacks with a one-under-par 71. She is currently tied for 11th place. The Kiwi got off to a strong start with a birdie on the first hole and added two more birdies on the sixth and eighth holes.

Frankie Dezis and Sumin Kang both shot 75 (+3), each recording two birdies. They are tied for 48th place.

Nina Lukyanenko is tied for 64th after carding a 76 (+4), while Amy Hodgkins rounds out the lineup with a 77 (+5), tying for 67th. Lukyanenko also posted two birdies, while Hodgkins secured three, including back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes.

Northern Arizona is tied for second with Kansas in the number of pars, totaling 58, two behind the leaders, LSU and USC.

Hodgkins will tee off first for NAU at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Standard Time. The rest of the lineup will follow in 10-minute intervals. The Lumberjacks will play alongside Mercer (11th, +7), Big Sky Conference rival Sacramento State (tied 9th, +6), and Charlotte (tied 9th, +6).
