VAIL, Colo. (Sept. 24, 2025) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team closed out the third round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic with an impressive under-par final round of 286 (-2). The Lumberjacks climbed three spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for seventh with UC Irvine and Eastern Michigan after a three-round total of +14.
Southern California set a new tournament record with a team score of 819 (-45), finishing 17 strokes ahead of second-place Pepperdine (-28). USC's Kylie Chong and Jasmine Koo shared the individual title, each tying the tournament record with a score of 203 (-13), matching the mark set by UCLA's Mariel Galdiano in 2018.
Northern Arizona recorded 172 pars, which was the fourth most in the field, along with 35 birdies.
"It was a strong tournament for us - seventh place in a competitive field with some great teams," head coach Brad Bedortha said. "Lizzie and Amy had solid under-par rounds, Frankie continues to play well, and Sumin had a steady showing. I'm proud of our performance and we're looking forward to a bit of rest before the next event."
Lizzie Neale led the way for the Lumberjacks, firing a 4-under 68 with five birdies on the day. Her 54-hole total of 216 (E) moved her up 11 spots to finish tied for 22nd. She averaged 4.92 (-1) on the par 5s and totaled 34 pars and 10 birdies.
Amy Hodgkins also posted another under-par round, carding a 71 (-1). She recorded 15 pars and two birdies. Her overall score of +2 placed her in a tie for 28th. She played the par 5s at 2-under, averaging 4.83, and tallied 36 pars, eight birdies, and one eagle across the tournament.
Frankie Dezis shot an even-par 72 despite starting the round with three bogeys. She recovered with four birdies to even out her score. Her total of 220 (+5) earned her a tie for 35th.
Sumin Kang recorded her third consecutive round of 75 (+3), highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 18th. She finished tied for 52nd with a total score of 225 (+9).
Nina Lukyanenko rounded out the lineup with a 77 (+5), tying for 87th with a total of 235 (+23).
Up next, Northern Arizona returns to New Mexico for the NMSU Invitational, set for Oct. 13–15.
