NAU Golf Holds 17-Shot Lead at Red Rocks Invitational

SEDONA, Ariz. (March 14, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team continues to dominate the leaderboard at the Red Rocks Invitational.

The Lumberjacks hold first place at 13-under (563) through two rounds, 17 strokes ahead of Gonzaga at +4 (580).

Amy Hodgkins leads the individual leaderboard at seven-under (65-72, 137) after opening with an impressive 65 and following with a 72 in the second round. She started round two with a birdie on the 535-yard par-5 first hole and also birdied holes 12 and 14. She is averaging 3.89 on the par-4s (-2), which ranks second in the field, and leads the par-5 scoring average at 4.38 (-5).

Sumin Kang is also near the top of the standings in second place at three-under (70-71, 141) after posting two steady rounds. She made back-to-back birdies on holes 5 and 6 and closed day two with a birdie on hole 18, chipping to six feet and sinking the putt. Kang is tied for second in par-3 scoring (-1) and third in par-5 scoring (-3).

Frankie Dezis continues to contribute to the Lumberjacks' strong team performance, tied for fifth at one-under (70-73, 143). The junior carded two birdies on the day on holes 3 and 18 and is also tied for second in par-4 scoring average at -2.

Lydia Lin rounds out NAU's scoring lineup in the top 10, tied for eighth at even par (72-72, 144) through 36 holes. The freshman was +3 through nine but rebounded on the back nine with back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11 before adding another on hole 14. She leads the field in par-4 scoring at 3.85 (-3).

Lizzie Neale carded a 71 (-1) in the second round after withdrawing in the first round due to injury.

Competing individually, Nina Lukyanenko improved in the second round with a one-under 71 after opening with a 77 (+5). She moved up 13 spots on the leaderboard and is tied for 19th with a +4 total.

Glafira Pomazkova posted a round of 77 (+5), good for a tie for 43rd with a +12 total.

Ava Bates rebounded in the second round with a 77 (+5) after an opening 87 (+15), moving up eight spots and sitting tied for 57th. She is also tied for second in par-3 scoring at -1.

As a team, NAU ranks second in par-3 scoring (+2) and par-5 scoring (-5). On the par-4s, the Lumberjacks are -7, which ranks first by 22 shots. The 'Jacks have combined for 33 birdies, the most in the field by three, and 111 pars, also leading the field by three.

NAU will look to maintain its lead as the final round gets underway tomorrow. Action resumes at 8:30 a.m. MST with a shotgun start. The 'Jacks will tee it up alongside Gonzaga (+4) and Grand Canyon (+8).
