FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team is coming off a successful home-opening weekend picking up two 7-0 shutouts against North Dakota and Northern Colorado and are now looking to compete against UNLV Tuesday, March 20 in their lone match of the week.
The Lumberjacks and Rebels will face off in Las Vegas and are set to start at 10:30 a.m. at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Overall, Northern Arizona is 6-8 and currently 4-1 in the Big Sky Conference. The 'Jacks hold a spot in the top half of the conference behind Idaho and Montana, two of the only undefeated Big Sky teams.
Following this weekend, the Lumberjacks will have just three more matches on the road and will play the remaining four at home before the conference tournament in Phoenix.

- Northern Arizona notched its first two 7-0 shutouts of the season over North Dakota and Northern Colorado March 17 and March 18 in its home-opening weekend.
- Junior Tim Handel was the first Lumberjack to notch an Athlete of the Week honor this season on Feb. 28.
- Last season the Lumberjacks finished on top as the 2017 Big Sky Regular Season champions for the first time in 35 years after recording a 15-8 overall record and 10-1 conference mark.

UNLV is currently 8-5 overall and 0-1 in the Mountain West after falling to San Diego State 4-3 in its conference opener. The Rebels are coming off of a 5-2 win over Marquette and will host Northern Arizona Tuesday, March 20 and Utah State Saturday, March 24. The Lumberjacks and Rebels faced off last season in Las Vegas with a final score of 4-1 in favor of UNLV. The 10-man Rebels team is led by head coach Owen Hambrook.
Coming Up
Northern Arizona will have two more matches against Idaho State Saturday, March 31 and Weber State Sunday, April 1 before hosting in Flagstaff again. Both matches are set for 10 a.m. start times.
