FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 26, 2024) - Four players from the Northern Arizona men's tennis team are heading to Colorado Springs for the Bedford Cup, hosted by the Air Force Academy.
The four Lumberjacks competing in the Bedford Cup are sophomore Semen Agynskky, sophomore
Jakub Prachar, freshman
Jakub Volesky, and junior
Takumi Katsuda.
This tournament will be Volesky and Katsuda's second tournament in Division I tennis. Prachar and Agynskky will be looking to build off the momentum they had started the fall slate with two weeks earlier in Tucson.
The NAU players will be competing with players from, Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Denver, Idaho, Montana, Montana State, New Mexico State, UNLV, Utah State, and Weber State.
The Lumberjacks have already competed against players from UNLV and New Mexico State, NAU players individually have a 6-5 record against players from these schools so far this season.
The Singles format for the tournament is four draws that are composed of 16 players, while the doubles is one draw that is made up of 32 teams.
The Bedford Cup will take place from Sept. 27 through Sept. 29.
