HOUSTON, Texas (Feb. 28, 2025) – The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team claimed four medals on the third day of the Western Athletic Conference Championship.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Kaci Kelaher and Elsa Musselman both qualified for the A final. Musselman took gold with a time of 53.45, while Kelaher finished seventh in 54.99. Gracie Munk qualified for the B final, posting a time of 55.69 for fourth. Isahbel Krasht was the fastest in the C final, recording 54.81.
Francesca Criscione earned a bronze medal in the 400-yard IM, finishing in 4:20.17.
Another medal came in the 200-yard freestyle, where Helena Robla-Alvarez swam 1:48.81 to take silver in the A final. Bena Koehn placed sixth with 1:50.38. In the B final, Casey Craffey finished fourth (1:50.48), followed by Kylie Ney in fifth (1:50.96) and Meropi Eggink in eighth (1:52.60).
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Trelise Dance placed seventh in the A final with 1:02.16. In the B final, Cydnie Perkins finished second in 1:03.38. Mariana Diaz-Ponce took second in the C final with 1:04.56.
The final medal for the 'Jacks came in the 100-yard backstroke, where Munk secured bronze with a time of 55.17. Jamie Dellwardt placed fifth in the B final in 56.00.
In the platform diving event, four Lumberjacks advanced to the finals. Catalina Devia led the preliminaries, followed by Grace Wesche. Mackenna Stocker qualified in seventh place, while Margaret Wesche placed eighth. Kendall Marquez finished ninth, and Victoria Knapp took 12th.
In the finals, Margaret Wesche was the top Lumberjack, finishing fourth with 232.15. Grace Wesche followed in fifth (228.25), Devia placed sixth (222.50), and Stocker was eighth (210.75). In the B final, Knapp finished second (195.40), and Marquez placed fifth (169.05).
The day concluded with the 400-yard medley relay, where Northern Arizona took third in 3:41.41, thanks to Munk, Dance, Musselman, and Koehn.
The Lumberjacks remain atop the leaderboard with 531 points, 133 ahead of New Mexico State.
The WAC Championship concludes tomorrow with an exhibition diving event and races in the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, 1650-yard freestyle, and 400-yard freestyle relay. Action begins at 9:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time.
