Dezis Goes Bogey-Free to Match Career Low

PALM DESERT, Calif. (February 15, 2026) - Junior Frankie Dezis fired a bogey-free 68 (-3) in the second round of the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic today, helping the Lumberjacks climb three spots on the leaderboard.

The Lumberjacks are currently in sixth place with a total score of +21 (589) after a second-round total of +6 (290). Southern California continues to lead the tournament with -15, 24 strokes ahead of UCLA in second with +9. USC's Catherine Park tops the leaderboard with -5 and is two strokes ahead.

A native of Bath, England, Dezis began on hole eight, opening with a steady par. She birdied hole nine, the 178-yard par three, draining a 16-foot putt. On the East side of the golf course, she made nine straight pars before back-to-back birdies on hole one, making a seven-foot putt, and on hole two, sinking a 20-foot putt from the fringe on the West side. She credited her score to her up-and-downs, chipping and putting well all day.

Her low score today propelled her 40 spots up the leaderboard, and she now sits in a tie for 11th with a total of +2 (144). It ties her career low, which she shot as a freshman and again at the first tournament of her junior career.

Fellow junior Amy Hodgkins and senior Lizzie Neale both follow in a tie for 22nd, both at +5 for the two rounds.

Hodgkins of Queensland, Australia, began on hole six. She picked up a birdie on hole 12 but was +6 by hole 18. She finished her round strong, going two-under-par in her last four holes. She took advantage of the par-fives, securing birdies on holes two and five.

From Nelson, New Zealand, Neale started the day at seven, dropping two shots on the first two holes, but regained composure and secured a string of pars before a birdie on the par-three 17th. She also picked up a stroke on hole one before returning to the clubhouse with a string of five pars.

The fourth counting score of the day was Lydia Lin's 76 (+5). The freshman made three birdies, including on holes nine, 12, and 18. She improved by six places on the leaderboard and currently stands tied for 80th with her +15 total.

Rounding out the lineup, senior Nina Lukyanenko shot a 77 for the day. She teed off on hole seven and picked up birdies on holes two and four to reach +4, but ultimately finished the day at +6 and is tied for 52nd with a +10 total.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Sumin Kang kept it consistent, shooting her second consecutive round of 74 (+3). From Queenstown, New Zealand, she began on hole 15 and made a single birdie on hole four. She is at +6 for the two rounds, which puts her in a tie for 30th.

Also competing as an individual, Ava Bates carded an 86 (+15). She made birdie on her opening hole, the par-5 16th, and also birdied her closing hole for the day, the 380-yard par-4 15th. At +23, she is in solo 94th place.

Tomorrow morning, the Lumberjacks will tee up alongside No. 10 Vanderbilt and host Long Beach State. The final round will begin at 9:00 a.m. MST with a shotgun start.
