PALM DESERT, Calif. (February 16, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team concluded the final round of the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic on Monday afternoon. The Lumberjacks placed seventh out of 16 teams with a total team score of +40 (892).
No. 2 Southern California lifted the team trophy with a final score of -17, finishing 26 strokes ahead of No. 33 Eastern Michigan. USC senior and No. 36 Catherine Park was the individual champion, shooting a total of -11 (69-68-65) to win by five strokes over GCU freshman Alexis Vakasiuola (-6).
"This tournament was a great learning and growing experience for us, and we had the opportunity to play against great competition on a great course," head coach Brad Bedortha said.
For Northern Arizona, senior Lizzie Neale posted a red number in the final round, shooting 69 (-2) for a 54-hole total of +3 to finish tied for 10th. The result marks Neale's 10th career top-10 finish. She began her round on hole four and made birdies on holes six, 11, and 15. She closed the tournament strong with three consecutive birdies coming down the stretch. The Kiwi tied for eighth in par-four scoring at even par, recorded 35 total pars, and tied for ninth in birdies with nine.
Amy Hodgkins played steadily, carding a final-round 74 (+3) to bring her three-round total to +8. With a birdie on the par-three 13th, she tied for 21st on the leaderboard. The Australian made the most of the par-threes throughout the week, averaging even par, which tied for sixth best in the field. She also tied for sixth in par-five scoring with a 4.78 average (-2). Hodgkins tallied 33 pars and seven birdies.
Frankie Dezis opened her final round with back-to-back birdies on holes three and four. As conditions became tougher, she finished with an 81 (+10). At +12 for the tournament, Dezis tied for 41st. She totaled six birdies and 32 pars across the three rounds.
Rounding out the lineup, freshman Lydia Lin and senior Nina Lukyanenko both finished at +23, tying for 80th. Lin contributed to the counting scores in the final round with a 79 (+8), while Lukyanenko carded an 84 (+13).
Tied for 52nd, Sumin Kang competed as an individual and posted rounds of 74-74-80 to finish at +15. In her final round, she recorded a birdie on the par-four 18th. The sophomore tied for sixth in total pars with 40, just two behind the leaders.
Also competing as an individual, fellow sophomore Ava Bates shot 80 (+9) in the third round to bring her total to +32 (79-86-80), placing her in 91st.
"The first day we had a tough round, but we bounced back and put together a much better round on Sunday. We had great weather the first two days, and during the third round, conditions worsened toward the end with some rain and wind," Bedortha said. "Many of the par threes played long throughout the tournament, so we had to adjust to the course length as well. Frankie had a great second round at -3, and Lizzie's -2 in the third round helped her finish tied for 10th."
Northern Arizona returns to action March 2-3 at the Lady Luck Invitational, hosted by UNLV at the Las Vegas Country Club.
